Challenge: Model a product in the 3D Modeling Software "Maya" and create an ad in Photoshop
Skills: 3D modeling, layout design, Photoshop, color pairing
Product: An artistic poster highlighting the 3D modeled object, setting the scene for the ad

Background Information
I chose to model a record player, candle, records, album covers and a burning incense. I then decided to make the advertisement centered on the incense.

Design Process
I first worked in Maya, creating the record player first and the the surrounding objects to set the scene. I brought in album cover images and created label surfaces on the objects to display the artwork. I added textures and surfaces to all of the objects into the image to make them as realistic as possible. Once completed, I added a lighting source and a camera to capture the photo.

I exported the 3D modeled objects and put them into a photoshop document. I then created the poster around it, matching the orange background color to the center of the vinyl. I chose a type face that would match well with the grunge aesthetic, and created a logo for the fake company "makes sense incense". I used photoshop to create a melting effect in the text and give the poster a textured look. I also drew the smoke swirling from the incense into the letters.

Target Audience
The target for this ad would be music connoisseurs and people chasing the aesthetic of vinyl, incense, and art. This is most likely someone in their late teens to early 30's. This ad would be featured in record shops, places where they sell incense, or other music-focused places like venues. The appeal would come from recognizable album covers featured on the front, the tagline "For the Late Night Listeners", and the overall aesthetic of the piece.
