Music Event Poster Design

Background Information
With all original images and text, I created a flyer fit to advertise for a music event in an urban setting. The target audience for this advertisement is young adults looking active in an underground music environment. I focused on custom typography, color theory, and layout design to create this piece.

Design Process
Photography: The background photo is an original work. I used binoculars and put a camera up to the viewer, took the photo through the viewer and the image of the DJ was produced with a vignette effect.
Typography: The "Dance" typography is custom type created through altering the Impact typeface with anchor points
Layout Design: The layout was done through a series of processes in Illustrator and Photoshop. The hierarchy of type was a focus on this project in order to display information in order of relevance and importance.
Color: The colors were chosen to be fitting to an urban environment. The bright red in the mockup was chosen to enhance the red in the varsity jacket in the photo.
