Studio Space Artwork

Background Information
Pool is an artist collective based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a studio space in an industrial style loft. Within the space is a videographer, furniture architect, mixed media artist, and musician. They often collaborate with Milwaukee artists to create original artwork of all kinds. Their unique style focuses around the word "pool", which takes on many different forms throughout the artwork created for their studio collective. For my piece, I decided to go with a grunge and rough style with texture and gradient dynamic with pops of color.

Design Process
Typography: I used multiple blending techniques and gradients to build the work "pool", which was designed to be the focus of this poster. The black background was chosen with intention to have the sunset colors of the gradients stand out with the thin white stroke around the letters, creating a hollowed effect.
Texture: The texture placed on top of the artwork was to give an analog feel to the piece, reflecting the messy, artistic style of the studio.
Type Pairing: The typography was carefully chosen to not be distracting from the focal point in the middle. The thin white stroke boxes compliment the thin white stroke in the letters in "pool", and the thin serif letters add to the handmade feel.
